Following up one ugly half at Kane with another one Saturday night at CARP Field, Coudersport regrouped in the nick of time to salvage its 2007 high school football season. Trailing Port Allegany 15-0 at the break, the Falcons emerged with ferocious defense and rolled to a 28-15 win. More ... League champion Coudersport was well-represented as postseason honors were bestowed for the Northern Tier High School Basketball League. Jessica Wilson left) was repeat winner as Player of the Year. Greg Stone (right) was named Coach of the Year. Karli Duffee joined Wilson on the all-star team. Other members were Brittany Rounds, Northern Potter; Brianna Bizzaro, Port Allegany; Megan Woods, Smethport, Justine Wilkins, Otto-Eldred; and Brittany Mertsock, Oswayo Valley. Named to the second team were Whitney Crosby, Austin; Jordan Bright, Coudersport; Laura Kalasnik, Northern Potter; Brittany Kellogg and Lauren Donovan, both Oswayo Valley; Lauren Kinniburgh, Smethport; and Lindsay Fox, Port Allegany. Honorable mention went to Brandi Lyon and Lauren Cook, both of Cameron County; Melissa Gerner, Coudersport; Tina Schwab, Smethport; Meagan Culver, Port Allegany; and Jordan Beckwith, Otto-Eldred. Champion Cameron County landed nine players on the Allegheny Mountain High School Football League's North Division allstar team, while runner-up Coudersport had six selections. Players were chosen by a vote of league coaches. More ... There will be a Cameron County Baguba Club meeting on Sunday, at 6:30 p.m. in the Emporium Borough Building (downstairs). All parents and coaches, Junior Olympic through varsity, as well as board members and anyone else interested in the wrestling program are encouraged to attend. More ... Cameron County Recreation Center is still looking for a fourth-grade basketball coach. If the volunteer position is not filled by Dec. 1, the center will be unable to offer fourthgrade basketballl. More ... Cameron County will travel to Clarion University Saturday afternoon to meet Redbank Valley and battle for a berth in the District 9 Class A championship game next Saturday.
