Mildred Goodwin Mildred L. "Mickey" Goodwin, 87, of Coudersport, died Sunday (Dec. 24, 2006) in Charles Cole Memorial Hospital. Born Feb. 28, 1919, in Austin, she was a daughter of John and Carrie Youdous Coy. On Aug. 28, 1938, in Smethport, she married Lewis D. Goodwin, who died May 29, 1994. Mrs. Goodwin attended Austin schools. In her earlier years, she worked for the former Cameo Doll Factory in Port Allegany. In 1973, she started Mickey's Diner, which she owned and operated for 32 years until retiring in May 2006. Surviving are her five children, Stanley R. Goodwin, Emily G. Shaffer, Nancy R. Giannone and Larry E. Goodwin, all of Coudersport, and Harold D. Goodwin of Port Matilda; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two granddaughters. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Northern Tier Children's Home or the Potter County Mentoring Program. |
