Chamber focus group being formed

Cameron County Chamber of Commerce will be forming a focus group to help develop an agenda for revitalizing the area's economy.

Chamber members will attend a workshop on Jan. 24 to learn more about the resources available to connect local efforts with state initiatives, including the Pennsylvania Wilds tourist promotion campaign, according to Shawnarae Callahan, the chamber's executive director.

A follow-up meeting will be scheduled to gather input from the public.

"The goal is to work together in making the Emporium area a thriving place to do business, to visit, and to live," Callahan said. "We have great potential. We also have an obligation to do everything we can to make it a place we are even prouder to call home."
