John Eastlake, a self-described naturalist and historian, came across this impressive sight along Rt. 6 near Sweden Valley in Potter County. Thanks to Michael S. Wennin, executive director of the Lumber Heritage Region of Pa., for sharing this. Eastlake and his wife Joan were researching former Civilian Conservation Corps camps when the bald eagle obliged for several minutes while John snapped away with two cameras. Interestingly, the couple also spotted an immature bald eagle later in the day along Tionesta Creek.
