Hospital, Highmark plan healthy living classes

Charles Cole Memorial Hospital in Coudersport is partnering with Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield to offer help to area residents who want to eat healthier, reduce stress and feel better.

There is no fee for Highmark members to participate and a nominal fee for non-Highmark members. The staff at Cole has been trained by Highmark's exercise physiologists, registered dieticians and stress management experts.

A "Clear The Air" smoking cessation class will be held on Monday, Jan. 22, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the hospital's conference room.

"Eat Well For Life" will begin Feb. 6 and run two times per week for four weeks from noon to 12:45 p.m. in the conference room at the Irwin Rehabilitation Center.

"Discover Relaxation Within," a stress management class, will be held on the four Wednesdays in March from 5:15 to 6:45 p.m. in the hospital conference room.

"Personal Nutrition Counseling," with a registered dietician, will be offered on Thursday afternoons by appointment beginning in February.
