Mary Pond

Mary J. Pond, 52, of Mansfield, died Thursday, Jan. 11, 2007, at her home.

She was born on March 22, 1954 in Renovo, a daughter of Leonard "Josh" and Mina (Confer) Burkhouse.

She attended St. James Episcopal Church in Mansfield. She was fulfilling a lifelong dream of becoming a nurse by attending Penn Tech School of Nursing in Wellsboro.

Mary is survived by a daughter, Wendy (Scott Mesuch) Roe of Hershey; two sons, Paul Fowler and Joshua Pond of Nanticoke; a grandson, Nicolas Roe of Hershey; her companion, Donald L. Hall of Mansfield; her twin sister, Nancy Galford of Clermont, Fla.; a brother and sister-in-law, Marty and Maria Haupt of Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif., a sister and brother-in-law, Arlene and Joe Blinzler; stepdaughter, Rhonda (Donnie) Farrell of Painted Post, N.Y. and a stepson, Bruce (Keough) Hallock of Horseheads, N.Y.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Karl Burkhouse.

Services were held at the Jacquelyn A. Buckheit Funeral Chapel in Mansfield. Burial will be in the Portage Twp. Cemetery, Gardeau.
