Laura McCloskey

Laura B. McCloskey, 77, of Castanea, died Sunday (Jan. 14, 2007) in the Lock Haven Hospital.

Mrs. McCloskey was born March 31, 1929 in Emporium, the daughter of Richard and Mary Sunseri Baldo.

On May 21, 1955 in St. Mark's Catholic Church, she married Charles W. Pete McCloskey, who survives. She and her husband renewed their wedding vows on their 50th wedding anniversary.

She was a graduate of Emporium High School and was employed by Keystone Central School District as a secretary from 1971 to 1991.

She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Lock Haven, where she was an active member of the Catholic Daughters of America. She was also a member of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians. She enjoyed playing cards and knitting.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Ann (Steve) Stewart, of Lock Haven and Melissa McCloskey of Castanea; one sister, Jean Stiner of Rocklin, Calif.; one brother, Richard Baldo of Slippery Rock; four grandchildren, Betsy Stewart, Stephanie Bruno, Phillip White and William White; and six great-grandchildren.

A funeral mass was held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Rev. Father Jozef Kovacik officiating. Burial was in Rest Haven Memorial Park, Lock Haven.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, or the Lock Haven Catholic School Endowment Fund.
