Betty Brown

Betty L. Brown, 88, of Emporium, died on Friday (Jan. 19, 2007) at Elk Regional Health Center, St. Marys.

She was born Oct. 28, 1918 in Greenland, Pa. a daughter of Wilson and Katie Faust Embody.

In 1956 in Rahns, she married Gilbert C. Brown, who survives.

Mrs. Brown lived in Emporium since 1969. She attended Claymont, Del., schools.

Surviving in addition to her husband, are two daughters, Shirley (Richard) Pepe, Scranton; Dorothy (James) Eckenroad, Emporium; two sons, Hobert (Joan) Moyer, Royersford; William (Sandy) Moyer, Royersford; nine grandchildren and 16 greatgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; step-grandson, Dwayne Eckenroad; one greatgrandson; two sons, Robert and James; one daughter, Josephine; one sister and four brothers.

Funeral services were held at the Barnett Funeral Home with Rev. R. Scott Melott, pastor, First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial was in Portage Township Cemetery.
