Catherine Erich

Catherine M. Erich, 95, of St. Marys, died Tuesday (Jan. 16, 2007) at the Elk Regional Health Center.

She was born April 14, 1911, in St. Marys, daughter of George M. and Anna Andres Hasselman.

On Sept. 3, 1934, in the St. Marys Church, she married Jerome W. Erich, who preceded died on July 24, 1975.

She was a lifelong resident of the area and attended St. Marys schools. She and her husband owned Erich Trucking from 1934 until 1975. She was a member of the Queen of the World Church and a member of the Rosary Altar Society.

She is survived by a daughter, Grace Bucher (Norb) Arnold, St. Marys; two sons, Jerome J. (Mary) Erich of St. Marys and Harold G. "Buster" (Betty) Erich, Emporium; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and several step great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, four sisters, Sarah Miles, Clara King, Marie Hassenetter and Anna Hasselman; and three brothers, George, Michael, and Leo Hasselman.

She was the last member of her immediate family.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Queen of the World Church. Burial was in St. Marys Cemetery.
