Second spring gobbler tags on sale Pennsylvania hunters may now apply for a second spring gobbler tag. Fees are $21 for Pennsylvanians and $41 for non-residents. The application period closes on April 1 for the April 28 to May 26 season. Hunters are able to take one spring gobbler as part of their general hunting privileges. However, the special license will afford hunter the opportunity to take a second spring gobbler. The Pa. Game Commission will monitor the impact of the bonus turkey tag at the same time it evaluates other possible changes, including the extension of spring gobbler hunting hours beyond noon. Revenue from the additional license sales will go toward the Game Commission's turkey management plan and to educate turkey hunters. |
