Raider wrestlers in action Tues.

Cameron County's wrestlers have a break before returning to action on Tuesday night at Sheffield. That will be followed by an appearance at next Saturday's Bucktail Tournament in Renovo.

Results from Thursday night's match with Port Allegany weren't available by press time.

Oswayo Valley performed well before its home crowd in defeating the Red Raiders 45-30 on Wednesday. One of the headline matches found OV's Brandon Slater paired with Taylor Songer at 152. They battled down to the wire, with Slater claiming a 4-2 win.

CCHS got pins from Bryce Frey (130), Brock Belkowski (125) and Chad Schatz (285), while Tyler Bidwell (112) had a technical fall and Randy Schatz (140) won by forfeit.

Last weekend, the Red Raiders rolled through the Girard Tournament with a perfect 5-0 record, their closest match a 37-33 triumph over Maple Grove.

Songer (152/160), Mike Baker (171) and Randy Schatz (140) all went 5-0 on the day.

Chad Schatz recorded four pins, while suffering a 6-4 setback against undefeated Robbie Ryhal. Belkowski, Dom Manginell and Matt Burke were also 4-1. Bidwell and Frey each went 3-2. Hunter Bardo went 2- 0 at 152.
