Falcon wrestlers off until Thursday Coudersport returns from a nine-day break with a high school wrestling match at Cameron County on Thursday, with junior high action at 6:00 p.m. and varsity to follow. There was less than 20 minutes of mat action Tuesday night as the shorthanded Falcons fell to visiting St. Marys Public, 78-5. Coudersport's lone win was freshman Dirk Cowburn's technical fall over Jon Carr at 140. "Dirk did a terrific job tonight, showcasing his speed and just plain dominating," Falcon coach Thad Taylor said. Also competing for Coudersport were Kyle Collins (285), Brandon Empson (119), Rich Keagle (189), Keegan DeLung (145), Ben Capatch (152) and Sean Davis (135). "We have a great group of young, hard-working kids," Taylor said. "The wins will come with experience." He expects to have nine wrestlers ready to go next week. The Falcons close out their regular season with back-to-back home matches Feb. 13 against Bradford and Feb. 16 against Smethport. |
