Frederick Palmer

Frederick P. Palmer, 71, of Ford Road, died Tuesday (Jan. 30, 2007), at the Elk Regional Health Center.

He was born Oct. 25, 1935, in Emporium, son of Richard E. and Martha Knight Palmer.

On July 2, 1960, in the Queen of the World Church, he married Donna M. Schreiber.

Mr. Palmer was a lifelong resident of the area and attended Emporium schools.

He was an employee of St. Marys Carbon Co. and retired from Carbon Products in 1992. He was a member of the Queen of the World Church, had served in the U.S. Marines in the 1950s, was a member of the Brookville Firemen's Club, Eagles Club of Kersey and the St. Marys Sportsmen's Club. He loved fishing, boating, hunting and camping in his camp in Kersey and camp in Cook Forest.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Fred R. Palmer and Stephen B. Palmer, both of Kersey; twin grandsons, Cody and Kyle Palmer; a brother, Donald Palmer of Emporium; and nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard A. Palmer and Robert Palmer who died in in- fancy.

A private funeral mass was celebrated at the convenience of the family. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Elk Unit, 117 N. Michael St., St. Marys PA 15857; or to the Community Nurses Inc. Memorial Fund, 757 Johnsonburg Road, Suite 200, St. Marys PA 15857.

Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
