Northwest Savings Bank has given $4,000 to be divided equally among the Daffodil Days campaigns for the American Cancer Society in Potter, Cameron, McKean and Elk counties.
Revenue derived from the annual fund-raiser helps pay for cancer research, patient services, early detection education, and advocacy.
For Potter County, 40 percent of the money raised through Daffodil Days goes toward cancer research and the remainder stays in Potter County for community education and patient support and services.
"We're extremely happy about the generosity of Northwest Savings," said Caroline Powers and Donna Sauers, Daffodil Days cochairs.
Steve Erway, manager of Northwest Savings Bank in C o u d e r s p o r t , encouraged other businesses and individuals to support Daffodil Days,
"The American Cancer Society is a very important part of the community, as we have all been touched in some way by a diagnosis of cancer," Erway said.
Among active Potter County patient programs are Look Good....Feel Better, Reach to Recovery, and Man to Man.
Daffodils will be delivered throughout Potter County March 20-24.
Volunteers will sell daffodils in area stores, businesses, and at Charles Cole Memorial Hospital for $8.00 per bunch of 10, or $1.00 for singles.
