Richard Mahon

Richard Donald Mahon of Amherst, N.Y., died at his home Sunday (Feb. 11, 2007) after a short illness.

He was born in Coudersport on June 12, 1934, the son of the late Richard L. Mahon and Doris N. Frost Mahon.

On July 3, 1954, he married Gloria Joyce Ellis. He was employed at the Buffalo Psychiatric Hospital from 1953 to his retirement in 1992.

Surviving are two sons, Richard A. (Cindy) Mahon and Brian L. (Melinda) Mahon, both of Buffalo; three grandsons, Justin A. Mahon, Shaun L. Mahon, and Austin M. Mahon; two great-grandchildren, Allisa Mahon and Sabrina Mahon; a sister Patricia A. Schweikart of Brockport; two aunts, Emelda Glover of Austin and June Bunnell of Coudersport, as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Linda Mahon.

A private service was held for the immediate family. A memorial service will be held on June 10, 2007 at Leisurewood Campgrounds, Rt. 5, Arkon, N.Y. at 1:00 p.m.
