Eugene Butler
Eugene L. Butler, 70, of Emporium, died Sunday (Feb. 18, 2007) at his residence.
He was born June 22, 1936 in Keating Summit, a son of the late Leonard F. and Charlotte McIsaac Butler.
On June 11, 1984, in Coudersport, he married Yvonne Button, who survives.
Mr. Butler attended Austin schools. He had worked at the Phoenixville Steel Mill and later returned to Emporium, where he held several jobs. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing and camping. He attended Keating Summit Methodist Church.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three daughters, Sylvia (Alvin) Grebe of Limerick, Becky Wilcox of Limerick and Tammy Butler or Royerford; five sons, Eugene Butler, Jr. of East Greenville, Joe (Priscilla) Butler of Spring City, Jim (Dee) Butler of Spring City, Guy Butler of Limerick and Kevin Butler of Emporium; two brothers, Jesse Butler of Port Allegany and Ernest (Patricia) Butler of Tennessee; two sisters, Ella Mae (Jim) Price of Keating Summit and Patricia (Leonard) Bosworth of Emporium; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and one granddaughter on the way.
Mr. Butler was preceded in death by his parents, daughterin law, Vickie Butler; two grandchildren, Tracy and Jean Marie Butler.
Funeral services were held at the Barnett Funeral Home with Rev. John Baney officiating. Burial was in the Forest Hill Cemetery, Austin.
