Parade of Stars packs 'em in

One of Emporium's oldest entertainment traditions, the Parade of Stars, continued in 2007 with another successful run.

Singers, dancers, instrumentalists and a comedian took to the stage to showcase their talents during a tradition dating back more than a half-century.

More than 300 people attended this year's show, which raised money for the Cameron County Fair Board of Directors' scholarship fund and the board's entertainment fund for this year's fair.

Frank Berman conceived of Parade of Stars in 1949 as a project of the 40 and 8 Club. Later, the Fair Board took it over, with the assistance of the Cameron County Recreation Board.
