Residents signing up for 'weatherization'

Potter and Cameron County residents can still sign up for insulation and other "weatherization" work to cut their energy consumption.

Northern Tier Community Action Corp. offers incomeeligible residents air sealing and insulation, repair or replacement of furnaces and windows, and other work. Weatherization can cut energy consumption by about 25 percent.

The program is not just for property owners. Renters who are looking to cut their heating bills can also receive weatherization services. Houses, apartments or mobile homes are eligible.

To qualify, residents must fall within these income limits: one-person household, $14,700; two, $19,800; three, $24,900; four, $30,000; five, $35,100; for each additional household member, add $5,100.

Information is available by calling the Northern Tier office at 486-1760.
