Paradise lost?
To the editor:

Accepting or not accepting wind turbines depends on that which you most value in life.

Do we not value the aesthetics of living close to nature -- the peace and quiet that comes with witnessing an undisturbed natural environment?

On this planet earth, should there not remain some places that are undisturbed by industrial development? Should there not be places where the primary focus is nature, places of escape from the noise and confusion of a hurried life?

Should we not want to preserve a landscape that is more pristine, that offers solace to the viewer which enriches one's life?

Should we not strive to preserve a natural beauty that is far too quickly disappearing in many other parts of the country? Do not the wonders of nature offer great richness in our lives?

Imagine each time that you look upon a horizon, a towering wind turbine, transforming the natural environment into an industrial landscape. What do you appreciate most and find most valuable in contributing to your quality of life?

Is it not a question of what we will be sacrificing if we accept wind turbines in this area?

What will we have gained -- and what will we have lost?
