Cameron County Daffodil Days winding down

Orders are being until Friday, March 16, in Cameron County for the annual Daffodil Days fund-raiser, benefittig the American Cancer Society.

Flowers are $10 for a bunch of 10, or $15 for a bunch with a vase. A bunch of daffodils with a Boyd's stuffed bear is $25.

Barb Palumbo and Bev Stewart are co-chairing Daffodil Days for the Cameron County ACS Unit. Orders can be placed by phone toll-free at 1-888-227-5445, Option 3, or by fax at (814) 386-1174.

This year marks the 34th anniversary of Daffodil Days. The flower represents a renewed spirit for those affected by cancer. For the second year in a row, fatality rates from cancer have decreased in the U.S.

Funds raised by the ACS are used for research, education, advocacy and patient services.

Northwest Savings Bank has signed on as a corporate sponsor for the local Daffodil Days fund-raiser. The bank is donating $1,000 for each ACS unit in Cameron, Potter, Elk and McKean counties.

Daffodils and bears will be delivered March 20-25.
