Watershed to be studied Local governments are being asked to approve a proposal to develop a Watershed Conservation Plan for the headwaters of the Allegheny River. The Western Pennsylvania Conservancy is seeking a state grant to prepare the plan. The project is supported by the Potter County Conservation District and the Upper Allegheny Watershed Association. Kylie Daisley, Conservancy watershed planning specialist, said the purpose is to identify the watershed's resources and the issues affecting water quality. The plan also will make recommendations to address the issues. It will be placed on the Pennsylvania Rivers Registry, which could qualify participating municipalities for funding to pursue projects protecting the Allegheny River. |
