Candidates line up for county races There's plenty of interest in open seats on the boards of commissioners and Cameron, Potter and McKean counties. Tuesday was the final day for politicians to file petitions for ballot positions. Two candidates from each party will be chosen in the May 15 Primary Election, with three commissioners to be elected during the General Election in November. They'll serve a four-year term. In Cameron County, incumbent commissioners Tony Moscato and Patrick Rodgers decided not to run for re-election. The third commissioner, Glen Fiebig, is seeking another term. Fiebig is in a crowded field for the two Republican nominations, where he is joined by JoAnn Smith, Tonya Aversa, Don "Stretch" Reed, Patrick Vogt, Barry D. Brown and Ron Hammersley. Seeking the two Democratic nominations are Phillip P. Jones, Nick Botera Jr. and Thomas Callahan. In Potter County, incumbent commissioners Ken Wingo and Cathy Bowers are joined by former board member Susan Kefover seeking the two Democratic nominations. Running for the two Republican nods are incumbent John Torok, Doug Morley and Paul Heimel. In McKean County, the commissioner field is crowded with 11 candidates. Incumbent Cliff Lane is joined on the Democratic ballot by Judith Church, Paul Lathrop and Geoffrey Beck. Running for the two Republican nominations are incumbent John Egbert; former commissioners Al Pingie and Larry Stratton; Richard Danielson; Port Allegany Mayor Joe DeMott and Bradford residents Tim Yohe and Jeremy Kosmac. |
