Carol Kite Carol L. Kite, 58, of Austin, died Saturday (March 3, 2007) in Olean General Hospital. She was born Nov. 9, 1948, in Mount Pleasant, a daughter of Orton O. and Margaret Leasure Stoner. In 1980, in Winchester, Va., she married Gerald A. Kite. Mrs. Kite was a graduate of East Huntingdon High School and formerly owned and operated the Forest House Restaurant in Keating Summit with her husband. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Brian K. (Heather) Kite of Emporium; two stepsons, Mark A. Kite and Jeffery A. Kite, both of Yukon; seven grandchildren; six sisters, Reatha Hribal, Gloria Miller, Margaret Burkholder, Dianne Lint, Emma Stoner and Deborah Lint; and five brothers, Lawrence Stoner, J.D. Stoner, Ronald Stoner, Franklin Stoner and David Stoner. She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters. A funeral service was held at the Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Home with the Rev. Matt Ryan, pastor of the Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Emporium, officiating. Burial was in the Portage Valley Cemetery, Wrights. Memorials may be made to Roswell Park Memorial Institute. |
