State College Rotarians Mary Johnston and Deb Rowley stand before the Emporium Rotary Club banner after speaking at this week's meeting. They were promoting the May 10-13 district conference, "Building Bridges," to be held in Pittsburgh. In other news, Rotarians viewed a newspaper article supplied by Mike Wennin telling of the club's first Rotary Ann dinner in 1938. Kevin Johnson and Cameron County High School seniors Cory Johnson and Brad Pahel attended as guests of the club. Cory, who plans to study wildlife technology at Penn State, has been involved as a volunteer for the local fire department and ambulance service. Brad plans to study welding fabriction at Triangle Tech. A meeting of the Wine & Cheese Social committee will be held at the conclusion of next Monday's 8:00 a.m. meeting at the Buttonwood Coffee Shop.
