Coudersport sweeps NTL post-season basketball honors

Coudersport made a clean sweep of the top Northern Tier High School Basketball League honors announced this week.

Juniors Blair Heimel and Kristy Kamper were chosen as most valuable players. Chris Fink (boys) and Brian Green (girls) were tabbed as coaches of the year.

Recipients were decided during a meeting of league coaches. Postseason awards were presented as follows:

Boys' All-Stars: Colby Brookens, Port Allegany; Jordan Crane, Cameron County; John Hau, Coudersport; Blair Heimel, Coudersport; Zak Kossack and Justin Smith, both Smethport.

Girls' All-Stars: Kristy Kamper, Coudersport; Diana Phalon, Smethport; Brittany Rounds, Northern Potter; Kristin Sestina, Cameron County; Rayna Valenti, Austin; Jessica Wilson, Coudersport.

Second team (boys): Chris Bogenschutz, Otto-Eldred; Derek Burdick, Coudersport; Kyle Harvey, Oswayo Valley; Kal McCaslin, Northern Potter; Matt Johnson, Smethport; Dan Sullivan, Cameron County.

Second team (girls): Whitney Crosby, Austin; Kandice Drake, Oswayo Valley; Lauren Kinniburgh, Smethport; Hope Morris, Coudersport; Katie Smoker, Northern Potter; Justine Wilkins, Otto-Eldred.
