Virginia McOmber Virginia Mae McOmber, 85, formerly of Summit Road, died Wednesday (March 14, 2007) at the Ball Pavilion in Harbor Creek. Born in Ludlow on Sept. 15, 1921, she was a daughter of John William and Mabel Lindquist Johnson. On May 18, 1946, she married Robert A. McOmber. Mrs. McOmber was a graduate of Bradford Area High School. She worked at Kendall Refining Co. for 17 years. She had volunteered for the American Red Cross and various church activities. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She is survived by four daughters, Janice Holtsclaw of Cincinnati, Ohio, Nancy J. Phillips of Lewis Run, Linda (Mike) Rhone of Titusville, Fla., and Marcia (Ron) Kowalczk of Erie; two sisters, Mildred MacPherson of Indiana and Evelyn Ackman of Emporium; a brother, LeRoy Johnson of Smethport; three grandchildren; four greatgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral and commital services were held at Hollenbeck- Cahill Funeral Home, where the Rev. Peter Graham, retired pastor, officiated. Burial was in McKean Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church or the Ball Pavilion in Harbor Creek. |
