Frederick McLeod

Frederick A. McLeod, 77, of Route 607, died Saturday (March, 17, 2007) in Charles Cole Memorial Hospital.

Born Aug. 18, 1929, in Keating Summit, he was the son of Horace A. and Lillian O. Lewis McLeod.

Mr. McLeod was a lifelong resident of the area and a 1946 graduate of the Austin High School. He was a member of the Keating Summit United Methodist Church.

He had been employed by the Pittsburgh Corning Co., Port Allegany, retiring in 1986 after 40 years of service. He was a veteran of the Korean War, having served in the U.S. Navy. He was an avid rollerskater and enjoyed swimming.

Surviving are a brother, James L. (Barbara) McLeod of Keating Summit; two sisters, Mary L. (Donavan) McLaughlin and Janie M. (Joel) Reynolds, both of Keating Summit; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A funeral and military service was held at the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany with Rev. John Baney, pastor of the Keating Summit United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial was in Portage Township Cemetery, Gardeau.
