'Pitch, Hit, Run' April 28 in Austin Austin Baseball Association will hold its second annual Pitch, Hit & Run competition on Saturday, April 28, at the Gary Williams Memorial Baseball Fields in Austin. This free skills competition for players ages 7-14 encourages participation in baseball and allow youngsters to showcase their pitching, hitting and running abilities. Boys and girls will compete together in four age groups. Winners can advance through competition, as far as the national finals at the Major League Basbeall All-Star game in San Francisco. Registration will be from 10:00 to 11:30, with competition to begin at noon. Rain date is May 5. Participants must present a copy of their birth certificate. Registration forms will be sent home with students through each local area school or team coach in the near future. Last year's event was a success, with Alex Furman of Coudersport advancing to the National Finals at PNC Park in Pittsburgh. |
