New polling places established

Voters in Emporium's West Ward and in Portage Township will have new polling places for the May 15 primary election.

The Cameron County Election Board has moved the West Ward precinct from Cameron County High School to the Barbara Moscato Brown Library.

Voters in Portage Township will cast ballots at the Charles Cole Memorial Hospital Wellness Center on the Sizerville Road in Shippen Township.

Although East Shippen Township residents also vote at the Wellness Center, the voting machines will be in separate locations.

The Election Board is also looking into moving the polling place for Lumber Township. A board member said federal voting guidelines limit locations where votes can be cast.
