Teens will walk Christ's path Sunday

Final presentation of a local teen production, "Living Stations of the Cross," is scheduled for 8:00 Sunday night at Coudersport's St. Eulalia Catholic Church on South Main Street. The Easterthemed presentation is open to the public.

St. Eulalia Youth Group members will act out the final hours of Jesus Christ as He carried the cross to Calvary. After the hourlong performance, audience members are invited to a reception with refreshments in the Parish Center.

"It's a prayerful reflection of the suffering of Jesus, made relevant to present-day society," explained the director, Gloria Richardson. "This is achieved by allowing the students to actually become the players in the presentation, using thought-provoking text, including scripture readings, and dialogue which attempts to draw the meaning of the stations into daily life."

The action is set against a backdrop of costuming, scenery, contemporary music, and special lighting effects. There will be a free will offering to support Coudersport Area Ministerium Emergency Fund. This is the second year that the Youth Group, consisting of students in grades seven through 12, has presented the program.
