Joseph Williams

Joseph M. Williams, 67, of Big Flats, N.Y., died Friday (March 16, 2007) at Arnot Ogden Medical Center.

Born in Emporium in 1939, he was the son of Richard (Red) Williams and Violet Sweeney Williams, who preceded him in death.

He graduated from Cameron County High School in 1957 and from St. Bonaventure University in 1961.

He was a retired Corning Inc. physicist and a member of the National Guard.

Surviving are his wife, Deanna Smith Williams of Big Flats; a daughter, Melissa McKaig of Elmira, N.Y.; a son, Joseph P. Williams of Horseheads, N.Y.; grandchildren, Steven and Sarah McKaig, Tyler and Jared Williams; two sisters, Mary Jane (Fred) Guido of Emporium, and Linda (Robert) Robinson of Austin.

There were no funeral services. Arrangements were under the direction of McInerny Funeral Home, Big Flats.
