Richard Angood

Richard L. Angood, 99, formerly of Ulysses, died Tuesday (March 27, 2007) in Charles Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport.

Born Feb. 17, 1908, in Ulysses, he was a son of Lewis W. and Marian Lehman Angood.

On November 23, 1927, in Scio, N.Y., he married the former Ruth K. Monroe, who predeceased him in 2001.

Mr. Angood owned and operated a dairy farm in Ulysses for more than 40 years. He was a member of the Mills Union Church, life member of the Tri- Town Volunteer Fire Company, life member and past president of the Tri-Town Volunteer Ambulance Assn., member and past treasurer of Lewisville Lodge #556 F & AM, member of the Coudersport Consistory, and the Ulysses Grange.

He served as Ulysses Borough Judge of Election, NEBA director for Potter County, Soil Conservation director, and Northern Tier Children's Home director.

Surviving are nephews, nieces, and many grandnieces and grandnephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Almon L. Angood, in 1999.

Friends may call at the Olney Funeral Home on Saturday, March 31, from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. with funeral services following. The Rev. Donald N. Miller will officiate.

Burial will be in Ulysses Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Mills Union Church, Ulysses Library, or Tri-Town Volunteer Fire Company.
