Clingan no-hitter kicks off season So what can they do for an encore? Fans of the Cameron County High School baseball team found out quickly that the defending PIAA District 9 champions are eager to pick up where they left off. Pitcher Cameron Clingan mowed down the Otto-Eldred Terrors in short order Tuesday evening, firing a no-hitter as the Red Raiders romped, 10-0. Clingan fanned 14 batters of a possible 15 in a game that was shortened to five innings. He issued three walks. Offensively, Clingan had three hits, including a home run and a double, while batterymate David Lyon doubled and stroked a pair of singles. Jordan Crane cracked a round-tripper. Sean McManigle and Mike Baker each doubled. "Clingan had complete control of the game and was way too much for them at this early stage of the season," said Raider head coach Dick Harrier. |
