Although stream temperatures are a little below normal, area fishing conditions have otherwise been pretty good. As warmer temperatures moved into the region Wednesday evening, Bruce Stuckey and his seventh-grade son Nick were nailing the rainbows and brookies in the lower end of Portage Creek, an area that was void of virtually all life just nine months ago. Here, Nick strings the early evening catch after taking advantage of a flat ledge to gut and clean the fish. The two fishermen had four at the time of the photo, with the biggest one being an 18- inch rainbow (pictured at left).
