Brown announces candidacy

Barry D. Brown has announced his candidacy for a seat on the Cameron County Board of Commissioners for the fouryear term that begins in January 2008.

His name will appear on the Republican ballot for the May 15 Primary Election.

Brown, a l i f e l o n g C a m e r o n County resident, said he is approaching the election as a job interview, and cites a resume that includes 13 years as a high school teacher, 15 years' business experience, as well as honorable service in the U.S. Army.

A Vietnam veteran, Brown is a graduate of Cameron County High School and a member of the Presbyterian Church.

"If you choose to hire me, I will be a d e d i c a t e d , hard-working and a honest employee for you," he said. "I will give personal service to all C a m e r o n County residents, bringing my business experience to the office of commissioner to conduct the county's business with diligence and dignity."
