Rockin' good time planned Entertainment for the second annual Leek Fezztival will be provided by Coudersport's own songwriter for the stars, Larry Herbstritt, and musical partners Jeff Kazimer and Tom Shaffer. After kicking around a few new names to replace their standard, the Rockaholics, the group recently settled on "Every Tom, Jeff and Larry." They'll be performing from 4:00 to 8:00, featuring a heavy dose of rock songs from the mid-'60s through the '70s, along with other selections. Herbstritt got his start with the Coudersport rock band Ollie and the Go Gos, and went on to a songwriting and arranging career that produced three number one pop and/or country songs, movie scores, TV series soundtracks and other accomplishments. He'll handle vocals, guitar and a computerized percussion system he has set up that allows the band to function without a live drummer. Kazimer, known as "Jeff the Barber" to many, plays bass and sings, often providing harmony. Shaffer is rhythm guitar player, with occasional vocals, as well as the band's chief sound man and technical troubleshooter. Most of the April 28 set will be suitable for dancing, whether fast, slow or in-between. |
