Busy agenda for PCVA

Potter County's tourist promotion agency has taken several recent steps to promote the area.

According to a report issued by Potter County Visitors Assn. President Jeff Miller and Executive Director David Brooks, PCVA recently used its slogan, "Untouched, Unspoiled, Untamed," to promote the county with ads placed in several publications.

That same theme is reinforced by the 2007 Potter County Visitors Guide and the PCVA website, www.visitpottercounty.com.

Plans for summer advertising are already in place. Member co-op advertising is also being planned.

Visitors Guide

The 2007 Visitors Guide is now available. Some 35,000 guides were printed to be distributed to those who request information, as well as to businesses and visitors centers.

This 32-page guide features state parks, the Pa Lumber Museum, E.O. Austin Historical Society, the Woodsmen's Show, God's Country Marathon, and an expanded lodging guide.

The guide can also be downloaded from the PCVA website or obtained from the office on North Main Street in Coudersport.

PCVA is also working on a new Potter County Road Map, as well as additional marketing opportunities.

God's Country Marathon

Planning continues for the 33rd annual God's Country Marathon, to be held on Saturday, June 2.

As the marathon continues to grow in runners (in part due to increased advertising in national runners magazines), so does PCVA's need for volunteers. To learn more about volunteer and sponsorship opportunities, call Kim Mitchell, race director, at 274- 7177.
