Local golf seasons will be in 'full swing' soon

Warmer, drier weather will bring out the linksters as the season moves into full swing at the golf clubs in Emporium and Coudersport.

Emporium hosts its annual Knights of Columbus Tournament on Sunday, April 29. The VFW Tournament is slated for May 12, with the Memorial Day Mixed Classic scheduled May 28.

Special events continue through late September.

Rich Cashdollar is back for another year as club president. Michael Keefer is club pro and Eric Shupe serves as course superintendent. Returning club champions are Preston Mullens and Meg Whiting.

Information on everything from membership rates and greens fees to tournament schedules and special events is available at 486-7715.

The Coudersport Golf Club, located on Rt. 44, south of Sweden Valley, is also gearing up for a busy season.

Gary Francis is club president, with Ken Fantaskey serving as golf manager. Josh Ayers returns as course superintendent and Mike Budnick is back to manage the clubhouse.
