The glorious history of Bradford's Zippo lighters was presented to Emporium Rotary members by company spokesperson Linda Maybon, shown here with program chairman Ken Gerg. A visitors' center at ther Bradford plant welcome about 50,000 people a year, she said. Acquisition of Case Cutlery was a wise move by Zippo, Maybon said, and the company will celebrate its 75th anniversary with activities July 27-28. In other recent business, Emporium Rotary welcomed three Cameron County High School seniors to its recent meeting. Jonathan Focht, son of Robert and Kristen Focht, plans to study Spanish in college and become a minister. Jason Sestina, who has enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves, is the son of Don and Rachelle Sestina. He plans to attend Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Because of the scheduled visit by the GSE Team from Germany on May 8, Rotary will meet at the First United Methodist Church. Those planning to attend should notify Georgiann Holly at 486-0229.
