Running for school board

Amber Beldin

Amber Buerk Beldin has announced her candidacy for an at-large seat on the Cameron County Board of Education, subject to the May 15 primary election.

A lifelong resident of Cameron County, Beldin is employed as a registered nurse with Community Nurses Inc. She and her husband, Shaun, have two children.

"I have a strong desire to be involved in the educational development of Cameron County's school-aged children," Beldin said. "Education involves not only academic concerns, but also emotional and social needs. I pledge to make decisions based on the best interests of all children and taxpayers."
