Pat Vogt, a Republican, has announced his candidacy for Cameron County Commissioner.
Born and raised in Emporium, Vogt is a graduate of Cameron County High School. He served in the Army National Guard for six years, and has been employed at GKN Sinter Metals in Emporium for the past 34 years.
Vogt said his many years working in GKN's Purchasing Department as a buyer have given him a solid background in negotiating and working with cost saving initiatives, skills that will aid him in providing "fair and professional service to the citizens of Cameron County."
Vogt also served on Emporium Borough Council for 13 years and has served on the Cameron County Recreation Board. He is a member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Marks Catholic Church, Bucktail Rod and Gun Club, and Emporium Fishing Derby Committee.
