Double no-hitter for Coudy girls

Megan Hau
Coach Scott Andrews has seen much improvement in his Coudersport High School girls' softball team during a flurry of games over the past week.

On Tuesday, freshman Megan Hau pitched a two-hitter with eight strikeouts and no walks to lead the Falcons to a 10-0 win over visiting Oswayo Valley. Kayla Bohn (2-for-3), Karli Duffee (2B, 3 RBI), Melissa Gerner (2 RBI) and Tigan Chiumento (2B) led the offense.

Hau and Duffee recorded a softball rarity on Monday -- they pitched back-to-back nohitters in a doubleheader sweep at Austin.

Hau was dominant in the Falcons 15-0 victory, striking out six and not allowing a walk. Duffee slammed a pair triples while Lauren Goga had an RBi double.

Duffee went to the mound in the nitecap and continued the streak, striking out nine and walking none in Coudersport's 14-1 win. Kelly McVay had three hits, while Duffee, Hau and Morgan Shaffer stroked two hits each.

Smethport's Emma Hahn held the visiting Falcons hitless in her team's 2-1 win on Saturday. Hahn had 14 strikeouts and drove in a run with a timely single. Smethport improved to 6-0.

Kelly McVay
Last Friday, Hau pitched a three-hitter, walking three and striking out seven, to lead Coudersport to a 10-4 win at Otto-Eldred. Duffee and McVay each had two RBI for the Falcons.
