Jordan, Giannotti, Szekely pace CHS tracksters

Junior sprinter Jordan Bright quadrupled and freshman Emily Giannotti broke her own school record in the 3200-meter run (1:37.8), as Coudersport's girls rolled over Northern Potter, 105- 41, and Cameron County, 135-9 in high school track and field on Tuesday. Bright's wins came in the 100 (14.1), 200 (29.0) and long jump (15' 1/2"). She also joined Allison Giannotti, Stephanie Kelley and Kaitlyn Karpinski for a win in the 400 relay (56.7).

Cassey Stuckey won the 100 (1:06.8) and ran a leg on the winning 1600 and 3200 relay teams. Sonni Gordnier (100 hurdles, 18.0), Maureen McCusker (1600, 6:18.6), Hilary Gordnier (300 hurdles, 55.5), Allison Giannotti (800, 2:36.2), Jessica Wilson (javelin, 109' 4") and Nina Williams (pole vault, 6') also were individual winners for the Falcons.

Coudersport also swept the boys' meet, 87-63 over Northern Potter and 97-51 over Cameron County. Rudy Szekely won the 800 (2:16.2) and joined Falcons Joe Bartholemew, Jeff Notaro and Grant Gerner to take the 3200 relay (9:17.8).

Coudersport also got wins from Kyle Gerhart (110 hurdles, 19.3), Eric Monger (discus, 100' 9"), Drew Levavasseur (javelin, 160' 3") and the 400 relay team of Koloman Erway, Sam Decker, Tim Thomas and Brett Chilson (48.9). At Saturday's Kane Invitational, Emily Giannotti topped a competitive field in the 3200 with a time of 11:43.22. She was also on the 3200 relay team that placed third. Coudersport placed 10th among 16 teams in overall scoring.
