Holjencin, Burke excel

Sprinter Charlie Holjencin and field specialist Matt Burke have enjoyed some early success in scholastic track and field for the Cameron County Red Raiders.

On Monday, Holjencin won the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.8 seconds and Burke placed first in the shot put (39' 7 1/2") and discus (107' 6 1/ 2") as the Raiders lost at Northern Potter, 96-53. Tyler Bidwell won the 110-meter hurdles in 20.4 seconds.

The next day, Holjencin's 11.7 was tops in the 100 and Burke took first in the shot (42' 3 1/2") in a 97-51 defeat at Coudersport.
