Summerson announces commissioner bid On Sunday, Keith Summerson received his degree in criminal justice from the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford. On Monday, he threw his hat in the ring as a write-in candidate for a seat on the Cameron County Board of Commissioners. Summerson is seeking both Republican and Democrat write-in votes in the May 15 primary election. "What Cameron County needs now more than ever is some new blood in the courthouse," Summerson said in launching his late campaign. "We can keep young people in Cameron County by increasing our tax base. My top priority is lowering real estate taxes without raising other taxes." Summerson served for four years in the U.S. Air Force and has worked in various capacities for the state and federal governments for more than six years. He is a graduate of Cameron County High School and a member of St. Mark's Catholic Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Emporium Moose. |
