Emporium clean-up starts

Emporium will be undergoing a clean-up in the coming days. On Saturday, volunteers will gather at the lot next to Subway at 8:00 and parking will be prohibited on Fourth Street for a major clean-up of the business district. Then, starting on Monday, free curbside spring cleanup gets underway. Borough residents only may put out items with their regular garbage during the week. These will not be accepted: yard debris, appliances containing freon, items containing liquids, construction/remodeling debris and auto parts. Tires will be accepted for a fee.
