Youth arts camp this summer

Penn State Cooperative Extension is finalizing the summer youth programs in Cameron County, including a a two-week-long Summer Arts Day Camp

Entitled "Exploring Careers and Hobbies in the Arts," the camp is partly funded by the Pa. Council on the Arts through the Northern Tier Cultural Alliance.

Kids between the ages of 8 and 14 are encouraged to register for the Day Camp, which will run from 9:00 a.m. to noon the weeks of June 18 and June 25.

Local artists and crafters will demonstrate their talents and give the students a chance to learn more about a wide variety of media. The camp coincides with the ArtsFest on June 30.

Cost for the 10-day event is $20 and scholarships are available. Information about the camp is available at Cameron County schools, the Barbara Moscato Brown Memorial Library and the Penn State Cooperative Extension Office at the Cameron County Courthouse.
