Lloyd Chilson Jr Lloyd O. "Bud" Chilson, Jr., 82, of Coudersport, died Wednesday (May 2, 2007) at Charles Cole Memorial Hospital. Born on Nov. 29, 1924 in Coudersport, he was the son of Lloyd Oakley Chilson Sr. and Mary Bradish Chilson. On Nov. 22, 1946, in Coudersport, he married Glendora Corey. Mr. Chilson was a veteran of World War II, having served as a medic with the U.S. Army. He was employed for 30 years with General Motors in Tonawanda, N.Y., retiring in 1985. He was a member of Park United Methodist Church and was a life member of American Legion Potter Post 192. Neighbors in and around Mill Street in Coudersport always appreciated Mr. Chilson's camaraderie and his help with groundskeeping, snow plowing and other neighborhood chores. Surviving are two daughters, Mary A. Chilson, Rochester, N.Y., and Pamela (Santo) Chilson, Coudersport; four sons, Lloyd O. "Butch" Chilson III, Buffalo; Glenn E. Chilson, N. Tonawanda; Jerry W. Chilson, Las Vegas, Nev., and George (Mary) Brown, Springville; seven grandchildren; four grandchildren; a brother, Donald (Gloria) Chilson, Magnum; one sister, Josephine Raup, Coudersport; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; a grandson, A.J. Forsay; a granddaughter, Elaine Forsay; and three sisters, Rita Rink, Maxine Stephens and Elaine "Jeep" Russell. Friends will be received at Park United Methodist Church on Saturday, May 19, from noon to 2:00 p.m., at which time a memorial service will be held. Burial will be in Sweden Hill Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded at the cemetery by members of the Potter County Honor Guard. Memorial donations may be made to the Coudersport Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 161, Coudersport PA 16915, or to the Coudersport Volunteer Ambulance Association, P.O. Box 203, Coudersport PA 16915. Arrangements are under the direction of the Fickinger Funeral Home of Coudersport. |
