Hosts need for Thai student

Coudersport Rotary Club will be hosting a young man fromThailand for the 2007-08 school year.

Touch Mongkonsawat, 16, from Muang Manet Charoen, will arrive late in the summer and enter Coudersport High School in the fall. He speaks English and is in good health.

Rotary is seeking host families to share in this crosscultural experience. Under the Rotary Exchange Program, Mongkonsawat will be staying with at least two families during the school year. Each will be responsible for his room and board. Rotary furnishes his spending money.

While families who have age-appropriate children are desirable, any interested family or persons who would like to host the student will be considered.

Coudersport Rotary Club has a long history of active involvement with the Exchange Program. Katie Symans from Coudersport High School will be spending the 2007- 08 academic year in Bogdszcs, Poland.

In recent years, Coudersport has hosted children from Turkey and Poland, and has sent students to France, Costa Rica and India.

Anyone interested in being a host family or learning more about the program is asked to contact John Leete at 274-9720 or any other Coudersport Rotarian.
