Wind turbine meeting May 23

The grassroots citizens' group, "Save God's Country" (SGC), will make a presentation on Wednesday, May 23, at 7:00 p.m. at the Hebron Community Building. The meeting site is located next to the Baptist Church on East Carley Hill Road in the village of Hebron.

Information on issues relating to the proposed construction of 79 industrial wind turbines on the ridges of Potter County will be presented. The public is encouraged by SGC to attend.

Although formal plans for the location of the wind turbines have been announced only for Ulysses and Hector townships, SGC members have become aware of inquiries by wind energy interests for the leasing of property not far from Hebron, as well as property near the Dutch Hill/Inez area, south of Coudersport.

Turbines proposed for Potter County are more than 400 feet high. SGC's objections to the plan are based on environmental and aesthetic considerations.
